Introducing the CERGE-EI Career Lunch Series

6 April, 2026

The CERGE-EI Career Lunch Series brings students into conversation with alumni and professionals from a diverse range of institutions and sectors.

Held in an informal setting, the series gives students the opportunity to explore career paths after graduation, hear first-hand insights from practitioners, and gain a clearer understanding of different roles and workplace environments.

As Development Coordinator Lenka Miklánková explains, “The initiative also provides a new way for CERGE-EI to deepen its ties with the alumni community and build relationships with new partners.” By establishing the Career Lunch Series as a regular part of the spring semester, CERGE-EI aims to support students in their career orientation while keeping them connected to current developments in economics, public policy, and related professions.

This semester, the series features professionals from the International Monetary Fund, the Government Office of the Czech Republic, and the Mastercard Economics Institute—offering students insight into careers in international policy, public administration, and private-sector economic research. “The selection of institutions highlights the breadth of career opportunities available to CERGE-EI graduates,” says Lenka Miklánková.

The Career Lunch Series builds on CERGE-EI’s broader alumni engagement activities, including Coffee with Alumni, AlumniLive Talks, and networking at the CERGE-EI Festival, launched last year. As CERGE-EI marks its 35th anniversary, these initiatives are expanding opportunities for connection by strengthening existing relationships, creating new ones, and opening the door to further collaborations in the future.
