From health behavior and identity to household finance, scientific networks and the political economy of industrialization, CERGE-EI’s new job-market cohort reflects the widening range of both questions and methods in contemporary economics.
The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has awarded the 2026 Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel to Robert E. Hall of Stanford University and Michael Woodford of Columbia University for their contributions to the “microeconomic foundations of macroeconomic stabilisation.”
On November 5, 2026, CERGE-EI will take part in the Week of the Czech Academy of Sciences, the largest science festival in the Czech Republic, with an afternoon program of three public lectures. The event will take place at CERGE-EI.
CERGE-EI is launching a new public lecture series, the John Bates Clark Medal Talks, highlighting the work of outstanding young economists whose research is advancing the whole field.
