CERGE-EI Festival: Discover Careers in Economic Research

The CERGE-EI Festival brings together faculty, students, and alumni to explore the opportunities that studying economics can open up. This year, the Festival will take place over two days, each offering a unique opportunity to connect, learn, and get inspired.

The first day – Discover CERGE-EI (December 4) is dedicated to prospective students from a wide range of academic backgrounds. It is designed to give participants a real sense of what studying economics at CERGE-EI is all about — the questions economists ask, the career paths an economics degree can open up, and what it is like to be part of the CERGE-EI community.

Beyond theories and models, economic research provides valuable tools for understanding how people make decisions, informing public policy, improving markets, and tackling some of today’s most pressing global challenges. Whether your background is in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, or the Social Sciences, this is your chance to discover how economics connects to your interests and future ambitions. Meet our students, researchers, and alumni, explore different career paths, and learn how studying at CERGE-EI could shape your next steps.

The second day – Paths We Take: Life After CERGE-EI (December 5) is dedicated to current CERGE-EI students and alumni, offering an opportunity to reconnect with the community, exchange professional experiences, and explore career opportunities. Through short talks and interactive discussions, CERGE-EI alumni will also explore the key trends shaping careers, skills, and labor markets — from technological advances and demographic shifts to evolving workplaces and career expectations. It is also a chance for alumni to inspire the next generation of economists and contribute to the continued growth of the CERGE-EI community.

More information and a detailed program will be announced soon.

CERGE-EI Festival is supported by Nadace CERGE-EI.
