Researchers’ Night 2025: Michal Bauer on Poverty and Decision-Making

Inequality and poverty are among the most pressing global issues. Why is it so difficult to escape poverty? Does financial scarcity create a mental burden that reduces people's ability to work productively, concentrate, and act patiently? This talk will present new insights about the economic and psychological impacts of poverty on preferences and decision-making, and it will illustrate methods for measuring preferences in developing countries.
