Introduction to LaTeX

During the 3-hour class, we will discuss:
- the basic structure of LaTeX documents;
- the details of typesetting your documents: itemized lists, tables, graphics, and floating bodies;
- how to typeset formulae with LaTeX;
- indexes, bibliography generation, and some finer points about creating PDFs;
- creating graphics: TikZ package;
- presentations: Beamer.
Prerequisites:
Please bring your laptop with installed TeX distribution and LaTeX editor.
Types of TeX distribution (all FREE of charge) based on your operating system (could be downloaded e.g. here).
- MikTeX for Windows,
- TeXLive for Linux and other UNIX-like systems;
- MacTeX for macOS.
As a LaTeX editor, I'm using Texmaker, which is also free of charge and works for all operating systems (could be downloaded e.g. here).
